Why are you most looking forward to being in A midsummer night’s dream?
The thing I am looking forward to the most excited for in “*A midsummer night’s dream”* is getting the opportunity to be in a play that is so unique and I have done nothing like it so far. The play has a lot of Indian dance, which is new to me, and I really love it. I also will have the opportunity to perform with some of my closest friends on many other dance styles such as hip hop, jazz, tap and ballet.

The reason I’m looking forward to the show is that I get to perform what I love, which is dance. Being able to do that and show everyone is really amazing.
I like to go bike riding with friends and family. I also love summer because every August I get to go on a daddy daughter camping trip with my Dad.
There is a trail in Arches National Park in Utah that I love. We have a family tradition to hike a great three mile long trail that goes up to a beautiful view of Delicate Arch.
If I had my way, I would take a bowl of pasta and chicken and parmesan cheese. And for dessert I would bring angel food cake with strawberries on top.
I have attended a summer wedding. And the best part of it was that I was the flower girl.
One of my favorite summer experiences was last summer. I used to live in Singapore and last summer we went there again and it was amazing how many things I suddenly remembered! We also went to Malaysia and China. In China we went a lot of places like the Bird’s Nest and we got to ride Segways around the Olympic track. We also went to this one market place where we got fried scorpions for a little snack–they were really good and they tasted like popcorn! We also went to our favorite dumpling place called Ding Tai Fung. I had so much fun there!

Do you have a particularly memorable summer experience that you shared with friends or family?
This summer my cousins and aunt came from Australia and we all went to Florida together. We went to Universal Studios and went on a lot of rides. My favorite part was Harry Potter World. We also went on a Caribbean cruise for a family reunion. It was so fun seeing so many relatives whom I haven’t seen for so long. We visited different places along the way on the cruise. We went to Cozumel, Mexico, Belize City, Belize, Roatan Island, Honduras and Costa Maya, Mexico. At each port we did different activities. In Cozumel we went to a beach park – Chankanab Park. We played on the beach, went snorkeling and saw a sea lion show. In Belize we went cave tubing and played in the water. In Honduras we snorkelled some more and played on the beach. In Costa Maya we went to a small fishing village where I hung out at the beach with my family, did a little shopping and got to swing and have lemonade. It has been my best summer so far!

Only one word could describe A Midsummer Night’s Dream – it’s special! Bharatnatyam, ballet, tap dance, hip hop, folk dance, live music, and acting combined together presents a picture where it unites not only all forms of art but also all cultures. I don’t think anything could be more entertaining or more incredible than this. I am so glad that I could take part in something that’s probably never been done before.
Sandwiches, fresh fruits, and cool beverages seem a little too healthy for my taste. My ideal picnic would consist of ice cream, ice cream, and more ice cream. Chocolate, vanilla, strawberry, pistachio, Oreo, fudge, orange sherbert, and rainbow – you name it, and it’ll surely be there at my summer picnic!
Usually, memorable summer experiences happen underneath the bright sun, but mine turned out to be a little different. As soon as school ended, my dad and I escaped to India to greet a few relatives. We landed at my grandparents’ house where we spent half of our summer vacation. Doesn’t this sound picture perfect? It’s summer, taking a vacation in India, spending time with family…? Well, though it was hot in America, August was the season of rain in India. One day, the sky poured so much rain that one area close to where we were staying was filled with water to knee-high level. My friends and I had the most fun that day getting soaking wet and almost taking a nice swim!

I am really looking forward to being in the Midsummer Nights Dream because of the dances, I think the turnout of mixing classical Indian dance (Bharatnatym) with Ballet and Tap dance will be phenomenal! I can’t wait to be in the final performance!
My favorite summertime activity is swimming. I love swimming because it relaxes me and definitely helps me focus and concentrate. Everyday in practice you get to keep improving, learning new techniques and getting faster. The competitive atmosphere at swim meets is fun and exciting but also pushes you to do your best, earn new times and accomplish goals you set at the beginning of the season. You also get to meet a lot of new people and make lots of friends, and then you get to compete with your friends at meets and compare how each of you did! This is why I love to swim.
If you had it your way what kinds of food would you take on a summer picnic?
If I could choose what I took on a picnic I would definitely have to go with chips and mango salsa!

I was very excited to hear about that Anita aunty is choreographing Shakespeare’s classic Midsummer Night’s Dream. I heard about Shakespeare from my parents, but, personally did not do any reading. Practicing dance and performing in this play will give me an opportunity to learn more from Anita aunty. I love dance and music and whenever I go to see any dance programs, I always ask my parents, I want to see myself doing dance performances on the stage. When the opportunity came, I practiced very hard for the audition. The audition process was very easy and I was really happy to hear the news that the Anita aunty selected me for the play. I will try my best to make Anita aunty proud.Do you have a favorite summer time activity?
